Year One Anniversary

Kingston, Jamaica
April 30, 2021 by L'Homme Noir in Mental Health, Self Care

A year ago, I sat down to write my first blog post. I found myself a bit quizzical when it was time to figure out where I should start. As a focusing activity, I decided to first write down the purpose of the blog and what I wanted to share with the world and maybe even add. I also thought about what I would have wanted to see on a blog and what was not readily available for me. I found that to be quite helpful in understanding how I should go about it and eventually, I ended up making that the basis of my first post.

So at the helm of the pandemic, I hit the publish button that evening and subsequently sent out a tweet from a page I made and then I went to bed. When I awoke the next morning, I was surprised to find six views and comments waiting for me, not to mention the others that came in later that day. In some ways, it was more exhilarating than publishing a first book; such tangible, instant feedback!

Since then, I have written at least one blog post per week for the past year. I am still in the process of finding my rhythm and style, but blogging has become part of my routine. My original purpose in blogging still holds, and I have personally benefited and grown as a result.

I just want to thank you ALL for taking the time to read my entries. Your support, kind comments and words of encouragement motivate me to keep writing and bringing you the best of my world and by extension, yours.

STAY BLACK AND PROTECT YOUR MAGIC!

Onward to year two of blogging!
